Took an old fashioned Georgia road trip today... I was up and out the door before dawn... stopped for a quick breakfast and coffee at the Waffle House and then hit the 'big road' (Interstate 20) heading northwest. Two hours and forty minutes later I arrived at my destination... Old Car City just northwest of the bustling metropolis of Atlanta. Old Car City was for many years simply another junk yard for old cars. Today it's more museum than junkyard as well as an artisan workshop. The place is filled with acres of old rusting, rotting classics and I spent three full hours examining but a small portion. The weather was a perfect 65 degrees with mostly sunny skies and I throughly enjoyed the experience. Everything's for sale said the fella who runs the place... if the price is right. I plan to visit again soon and highly recommend others to do the same.
